Why Rainey Homestead?
Well, that is a good question. Originally, I never intended to write a blog or do any anything with a forward facing public website. However, I did have full intentions of creating a space where my family and I can access our home network while we are away from home, traveling. After a early retirement I quickly realized that I should be doing something productive. So here comes the decision to write a blog, and instead of creating a whole new domain I figured why not use my family/private domain and see where it goes first.
Why in world would I choose to blog?
Never in my life have I considered myself a writer, and I’m sure this will prove itself in my spelling, grammar and punctuation. Not to mention every other glaring error in formatting! I by no means am a expert at writing or in fact anything else I have done in my life. But, what I do have is a strong drive to inform, help and teach people things that I feel are important in life. Over the years I advocated to people to do certain things that I was passionate about, such as saving and investing. Countless times I have explained to new employees of a past career the benefits of investing into retirement. Wether or not my advise was heeded, I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that I loved explaining the financial benefits and portraying the excitement of a possible early retirement. A blog to me,is the best possible way to accomplish this.
What do I intend to write about?
Everything! Just like the rest of you, I have opinions, and boy oh boy do I like to share them! LOL. Also debate is just as important. I want to listen to your opinions. I have always listened to other people and would dive into research about anything I did not fully understand. And I expect the same from me readers. Never take what I write about as the gospel. If some off the wall topic I write about catches your interest and my opinion is just enough to make you curios, then do the deep dive, form your own opinion, and lest talk about it!
